From the 1890s to the late 1920s, silent films were far from silent.

From a lone pianist or organist to a full symphony orchestra in the grandest movie palaces, theater musicians gave voice to the stars, stirring the hearts of audiences across the nation.

Join us on a journey to relive the magic of these films, brought vividly to life with live music and sound, recreating the thrill and excitement of a bygone era!

After witnessing the tragic demolition of his neighborhood's beloved historic 1928 atmospheric theatre, "The DuPage" built by Rudolp G. Wolff of Rapp and Rapp fame (e.g. The Chicago Theatre), composer and conductor Joel Everett was determined to preserve such heritage and history for future generations where possible.

Now located in North Carolina, this mission is continued through the Moving Picture Philharmonic - a premier ensemble dedicated to "Bringing the Silents back to Life" through authentic period music and historically informed performances.
